What type of person or company will use the new very light jets as “air taxi’s” instead of using the airline

With the new very light jets that are comming out do you believe people will switch from using airlines or driving long distances. What type of person or company do you feel will make this switch. Do you feel an “air taxi” system that books these planes on a per seat on demand basis instead of the current whole plane charter system will be created. How much would you pay to avoid the hassles of the current air travel system. I am doing market research on the subject and value your input.

VLJ’s or very light jets will likely be used for private carraige or non scheduled on demand commercial operations. The most likely user of these types of aircraft will be private buisnesses. Full, midsize, and even small buisness jets are incredibly expensive and are therefore often unavailable for purchase by smaller buisnesses with travel needs. However VLJ’s will be significantly lower in price. Mind you that seating in the aircraft is very limited often to 4 passengers and the range may not be as far. However it is a good alternative for buisness travel rather than using airlines or buying a time share in a very expensive large buisness jet. New Air Taxi services may also come up to use VLJ’s and offer on demand service to smaller more local airports.

Primarily the benefit is in getting individuals much closer to there destination by using very small airports with short runways. For example needing to get to Battle Creek, Michigan instead of flying to Detroit metro airport and driving 2 hours just fly into Battle Creek airport.

In all this will be primarily buisness driven more than personal pleasure trips.
